Maria Sol Villena is the Vice President of Fundacion Proyectar, and an active member of the Social Network of Salta’s Northern Neighbourhoods. She teaches high school psychology and art, and is currently working on another degree in Communication at the National University of Salta.

She has been involved in in community service for many years, giving workshops to youth regarding “Life Project Building” and “Vocational Orientation”.

Working Conditions

Fundación Proyectar as of yet has no central office and is run by a team of 15 or so young professional volunteers. During this year they are hoping to open a physical site in a neighbourhood north of the city where most of projects are developed and carried out. The volunteer will have to be flexible as meetings will be held in various locations through out the city, and much work will be conducted independently.

Organizational Background

The fundacion was begun in 2010 by a group of young legal professionals, exclusively providing pro-bono legal advice and educational workshops regarding family violence. Since then it has grown to include academic support programs in neighbourhoods throughout Salta, and this year the members are working to expand the program to include community leadership building programs and strengthened ties with the National University of Salta.
