Organization Overview

Manos Abiertas is a Christian organization with the mission to serve, foster, and dignify members of the community in situations of poverty, illness, and hardship. Through various programs, the organization works to reintegrate and dignify this population, providing job training, shelter, education and healthcare.

Programs

Current programs include: “Hospederia,” a guesthouse that offers a warm place for people living in the streets to sleep, bathe, have a meal and to feel welcome, accepted and empowered, before being reintegrated into the community. Mano Abiertas also helps create work opportunities for residents of the guesthouse and other low-income groups by providing workshops on capacity building. Additional programs include: rehabilitation for children with cerebral palsy, schooling for underserved children and hospice services for terminally ill patients without family.
