Many of our supporters, participants, and alumni have expressed a desire to become involved with FSD and to help us raise awareness and support for the development work with which FSD is involved. However, often people are worried about entertaining, others are shy about speaking in public about FSD, and still others are hesitant to ask their friends and family for a donation.

Taking a stand and being an advocate for what you believe in, including asking others to support you, are important actions. However, for each of us there are moments along the way when we may feel unsure.

Time and time again, though, we hear from our event host that their events touch those who are invited (guest often thank their hosts for introducing them to their cause and FSD’s work), and that they genuinely had fun hosting their events. That is why we have put together a group of resources to assist you along this process.
