  • Columbia Univ. PhD in Sustainable Development: responding to a substantial and growing demand for PhDs with a broad social science education, strong research skills, and knowledge of the natural sciences. The new interdisciplinary PhD in Sustainable Development is designed to educate researchers, university teachers, and global policymakers in the social science and natural science disciplines that underpin sustainable development.
  • The Nelson Institute for Environmental Studies at Univ. Wisc. Madison: inspired by the contributions of Gaylord Nelson, John Muir, and Aldo Leopold, the Nelson Institute focuses on understanding the relationships between people and the planet, and on seeking solutions to environmental problems at all scales.
  • Berkeley Extension - Sustainable Design: designed with the working professional in mind, this year-long program focuses on developing the mandated knowledge needed by architects, designers, builders, developers, project managers, and other decision makers who want to be leaders in the sustainable, cradle-to-cradle revolution now in progress.
  • Sustainable MBA from Presidio School of Management: Presidio defines Sustainable Management as the ability to direct the course of a company, community or country in ways that restore and enhance all forms of capital — human, natural and financial — to generate stakeholder value and contribute to the well-being of current and future generations.
  • IDS: the Institute of Development Studies is a leading global organisation for research, teaching and communications on international development.
  • IDCE: the Master of Arts degree in International Development and Social Change (IDSC) emphasizes the connection between critical thinking and effective action.     Fellowship Opportunities:

  • Department of International Development, Community, and Environment (IDCE) at Clark University: Clark University provides partial tuition fellowships worth at least 40 percent tuition remission (more than $20,000 at current tuition rates) to all FSD alumni with six months or more of service abroad and who are admitted to IDCE’s graduate program in International Development and Social Change (IDSC). Application deadline is January 15th for entrance the following August.
